Me

I am a middle-aged Englishman abroad. Well, to be honest, I’m more at home here in New Zealand than I think I could be in England any more. I live in Dunedin,  down the cold end of the South Island, with my wife and two teenage daughters.

My hobbies are music (hence blog), football (not the rugby, actual football), renovating an Edwardian villa and brewing my own beer. I am one of the world’s most southerly Spurs fans and I’m fairly certain I can claim the title of ‘World’s Most Southerly Woking Fan’…

Nah, unfortunately I’d have to say I’m a ‘retired’ musician. I brought my basses to NZ because I couldn’t bear to part with them but they’ve never even been out of their flight cases 😦

That’s a shame… still I totally understand. My bass (and guitars) are sitting in the cupboard under the stairs slowly gathering dust.

btw. if you want to stream that “Ernest’s Adventures In Space” mix you can use my mixcloud page…

    GO FUCK YOURSELF !!!

Hey Glenn, nice to hear from you!
Thanks for your feedback, I assume your use of expletives and capitals stems from you being a drummer and therefore unable to communicate eloquently? That’s OK, I know some other ‘tub thumpers’ and they face similar frustrations. Do you drool out of the corner of your mouth as well?
I really am terribly sorry you didn’t agree with my review of Nuclear Assault, maybe it sounded different from where you were sitting? I know there were some areas in the auditorium, namely the parts where you could hear the PA, where it sounded badly-played and amateurish, but looking back, that could have just been the acoustics. We’ll never know, as The Astoria was knocked down ten years ago 😦

Please drop by the blog any time and thanks for boosting my hit count!
      Cheers,
      Prince ByTor

Hi, long shot but I was wondering if you had any photos or videos of the Homelands festival in Hampshire on 27 May 2000?
I haven’t had much luck searching google or reddit and came across your post. It’s the last place I went to with my brother before he passed away.

Cheers from Las Vegas and thank you!

Did you stumble across this by chance ? (I have a feeling there may be a link in my Instagram or something but if you arrived here by Google then that’s mad 🙂 )

Kind of by chance … I was listening to the Ozrics and recalled one of the first times I saw them live and was moved to google “ozric tentacles Hastings” and voilà! It was so cool to see those tickets and fliers and really enjoyed your synopses of the gigs. Nice work!
